Raksha Bandhan quite literally translates from ancient sanskrit to “bond of protection.” When ADYA thinks of the beauty of the holiday they envision it as threads of love and light tied around the wrists of the ones we love to vow to keep them safe for always.
Traditionally, this holiday has been celebrated among sisters and brothers where sisters tied rakhis on their brothers’ wrists as they went out into the world to achieve dreams and offered protection to one another. ADYA’s friends, The Chai Mommas, started with a little idea where sisters could send rakhis to their sisters along with their brothers!

Just in time for Raksha Bandhan next Thursday, August 15th, ADYA is offering Rakhi & Card sets at both ADYA locations. Each set is made by kids at The Gandhi Ashram and every sale benefits their non-profit, Manav Sadhna. Their mission is dedicated to upliftment of the underprivileged through love in Gujarat, India.
