What better place for a Santa Barbara culinary weekend after party than the Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort? The 10,500-acre working ranch will host the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience After Party March 15-17, 2020, a two-night celebration of food and wine and the best of Central Coast California living that the spirit of the festival embodies. In addition to featured local chefs and winemakers coming out to celebrate, Guest Chef Ludo Lefebvre will prepare dinner at the Alisal’s Historic Adobe, giving guests a rare dining experience at one of California’s oldest ranches. As with the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience, a portion of the proceeds from the After Party will support the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts.

After checking-in to a luxe ranch suite, the party kicks off with the Santa Barbara County Chefs Potluck: The Ultimate After Party. From pizza ovens to open flame BBQs, guests will join the chefs alongside local vintners and breweries for a fun, casual evening. The next morning, Joy Culley of Solvang Spice Merchant will lead a spice blending workshop where guests can create their own custom blends and rubs. From there the day goes into a wine tasting and panel discussion exploring Santa Barbara County and Santa Rita Hills wines with some of the area’s top local winemakers. A California Wine Country cooking demo and lunch will follow. The afternoon is free to explore the ranch and partake in a variety of activities from horseback riding to golf.

Monday night guests will be transported to the Historic Adobe via haywagon for a demo and dinner with Chef Lefebvre. In the spirit of Julia Child who brought classic French cooking technique to Santa Barbara, the Alisal Guest Ranch brings Chef Ludo Lefebvre for a rare dining experience at one of California’s historic ranches. Chef Ludo, an expert of modern French cuisine, will demonstrate then cook dinner alongside Alisal’s Executive Chef Anthony Endy blending live fire ranch cooking with his classically trained inspiration.

The After Party package includes accommodation in one of Alisal’s accommodations featuring a king bed, and wood-burning fireplace complete with authentic Western décor, exquisite linens, coffee makers, and refrigerators. Meals, all activities and welcome amenity also included. A la carte pricing for select events is also available.
