In celebration of Passover, Antonello Ristorante at South Coast Plaza Village is debuting a Passover Menu available through the season (April 14-22), announced owner Antonio Cagnolo. The 3-course, prix fixe menu starts with a choice of salad or matzo ball soup; lamb chops, lamb osso buco or duck ravioli; and ricotta chocolate tart for dessert ($39 pp).
The story of Passover can be found in the book of Exodus in which God helped the people of Israel escape their enslavement in Egypt. He inflicted 10 plagues upon the ancient Egyptians before the Pharaoh finally relented and released the Israelites. It was the 10th plague that called for the death of the Egyptian’s firstborn that started thePassover tradition. The Israelites were instructed to mark their doors with the blood of a slaughtered lamb so that the Lord would pass over these homes.
