The American Friends of the Israel Museum (AFIM) is pleased to announce its
upcoming Spring Art Panel on the topic of Art and Food. This ticketed event is taking place on Monday, May 12, 7pm at Kayne Griffin Corcoran gallery on La Brea Avenue. The event will feature a discussion between Israeli Chef Assaf Granit, Chef Suzanne Tracht, Executive Chef and Owner of Jar Restaurant, Los Angeles, moderated by James S. Snyder, Anne and Jerome Fisher Director of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Their discussion will highlight the historical connection between art and food with a creative focus on James Turrell, given the Israel Museum’s upcoming exhibition James Turrell: Light Spaces and the host gallery’s representation of the artist. Following the conversation a food performance by the chefs will take place as well as a cocktail and food reception. Alcohol generously provided by Selvarey: a rum company now launching in Los Angeles.
All proceeds of this event go towards the support of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
