St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

A full day of festivities include live entertainment, Irish fare and libations

at the Brea pub; preceding weekend will feature “St. Practice” promotions

On Thursday, March 17, Macallans Public House (330 W Birch St., Brea Downtown) will host a lively St. Patrick’s Day celebration from 10 a.m.-2 a.m. A full day of festivities includes performances by live bands, DJ, a strolling bagpiper and Irish-inspired food and spirits.

The special dining menu will highlight traditional Irish favorites with a Macallans twist. Featured entrees include:
·         Corned Beef & Cabbage ($18) – house-corned beef, braised savoy cabbage, baby Yukon gold potatoes with duck liver demi-glace and harissa sour cream
·         Fish & Chips ($15) – Lager battered true cod, super slaw, potato wedges, house-made tartar sauce
·         Bangers & Mash ($15) – two charred bangers, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and onion gravy
·         Shepherd’s Pie ($15) – braised ground beef & lamb, onions, peas, carrots and crispy parsnips

An extensive beverage menu will be offered. Selections include twenty-three Irish whiskeys, Macallans signature original Irish coffee and four Irish beers on tap including TAPS award-winning Irish Red.

In order to accommodate the anticipated crowds, Macallans will extend the party to Sky Lounge, an open-air venue adjacent to the restaurant. A wristband giving access to the upstairs area, live bands and DJ can be purchased for $15.99. The price includes a food buffet of bangers & mash, shepherd’s pie, corned beef sliders and housemade pretzels. Drinks are not included but a limited menu of Irish beers and whiskey will be available for purchase.

The live entertainment line-up will take place in the Sky Lounge, beginning at 2:30 p.m. when Vagrant Nation performs followed by the Dropkick Mickeys and DJ spun tunes.

The preceding weekend, Friday, March 12-Sunday, March 14, Macallans will get into the spirt with “St. Practice” promotions that includes live entertainment nightly and $5 specials on Guinness, Jameson and Irish coffee starting at 4 p.m. The St. Practice weekend will kick off Friday, March 12 with Vagrant Nation performing at 7 p.m., beer girls, and a weekend special of corned beef and cabbage. Saturday’s entertainment with the Dropkick Mickeys starts at 7 p.m. and Sunday Craic Haus performs at 5 p.m.
