Whether gathering with friends and family at the popular KITCHEN 1540 for an elegant Thanksgiving dinner or finding a few minutes of autumn-inspired relaxation at Spa L’Auberge, L’Auberge Del Mar, by Destination Hotels is a San Diego favorite for giving thanks this season.

KITCHEN 1540 Thanksgiving Menu

KITCHEN 1540’s Executive Chef Brandon Fortune has created a modern Thanksgiving menu with a Southern twist that offers diners a perfect blend of traditional dishes and progressive, artistic cuisine. The three-course, pre-fixe menu is offered fromnoon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 27 and is $65 per person or $32 for children under 12. (Tax and gratuity not included.) Reservations are required and can be made by calling 858-793-6460.

The menu includes a choice of:

Starters

Cold Smoked Trout and Beets: one of Chef’s most requested dishes with heirloom apples, whipped bleu cheese & toasted walnuts

Wyoming Bison Tartare: egg yolk, “everything cracker,” shaved wild mushrooms, & red mustard frill

Organic Greens Salad: heirloom pears, Valdeon blue cheese, toasted pumpkin seed & red wine vinaigrette

Pumpkin Spice Soup: graham cracker crumble & warm maple drizzle

Still Smoking Scallops: another Kitchen 1540 favorite with tangerine dust, wild mushrooms, cauliflower-vanilla soup, smoked almonds & mache

Entrees

King Salmon: black-eyed pea hummus, kale two ways, smoked ham hock & winter succotash

Slow-Cooked Free Range Turkey: thyme potato puree, confit thigh & sage stuffing

Beef Tenderloin: naturally feed & raised, horseradish potatoes with bearnaise, local vegetables

Duck Breast: mole negro, seasonal tamale, pickled nopales & tomatillo salsa

Vegetarian Ravioli: black butter, roasted chestnuts, parsley froth & winter truffles
