Residence learn how to garden tomatoes at home

In the heart of a colorful, water-wise garden, families will learn to grow healthy snacks in their own backyards with a local tomato gardening expert. The free workshop will offer everything Orange County residents need to take advantage of the upcoming mild winter – the perfect time to harvest juicy, cool-season heirloom tomatoes.

By learning about water-wise planting, families will grow to love gardening and help the planet in the process. Families that grow their own vegetables can help reduce water use and greenhouse gas emissions in our environment.

Taking place at Orange County Coastkeeper Garden in Orange, Garden Director Marianne Hugo has coordinated with local tomato gardening expert Julie Bauden-Davis to teach the tips to tending in the garden. The event will be held at 10 am.
