This October, Latin-inspired beach vibes and boozy agua fresca-inspired cocktails arrive in charming San Clemente at brand-new bar and restaurant, OC Fresca. Located across from the landmark Ole Hanson Beach Club, OC Fresca is nestled in a historic building just steps from the Pacific Ocean. The expansive and colorful menu features signature fresh-pressed juices made onsite crafted into delicious fruit cocktails–made daily and custom built to order. The Frescas will be available in a variety of seasonal cocktails or as non-alcoholic versions known as “Re-Frescas.” Additionally, the Frescas will be used to create paletas (fruit popsicles) that can be enjoyed in the restaurant or taken to go.
Fresh Fruit On The Rocks
Showing that the juice is worth the squeeze, OC Fresca’s exhibition kitchen is devoted solely to Fresca production, allowing guests a peek inside the process. The custom-made hexagon-shaped bar will house traditional agua fresca jugs where the brightly colored frescas are ladled from. After an extensive R&D phase, down to the number of berries, OC Fresca has stacked the menu with a set of signature Re-Frescas like the Lime Fresca with fresh lime and orange juice and the Berry Pomegranate Fresca with fresh strawberry, blueberry and pomegranate juice.
Margo Frescas are paired with beachy spirits like tequilas, mezcals and rums, including the smoky mezcal forward Spicy Pina made with the pina Fresca. Other fresca cocktails range from the light and fresh Mango Daquiri made with mango Fresca to the Berry Fresca Daiquiri made with the berry pomegranate fresca. Frescas are also available as Fresca Sodas or Fresca Teas. Sweet & Spicy
The Latin-inspired menu offers small plates that are designed to share. Highlights include SoCal staple tacos filled with everything from steak to carnitas, including the 3 Little Pigs taco with crispy melted cheese, carnitas, chorizo, chicharrones and habanero crema, as well as Mini Empanadas with fillings like shredded chicken and Oaxacan cheese and bacon jalapeno poppers and a trio of guacamoles, including a Fruta variety with street fruit and veggies like cucumber, melon, mango and pomegranate seeds. Many of the Frescas are used throughout the menu in salsas, marinades and desserts. Lunch and dinner are served daily, plus weekend brunch.
California Dreaming
Situated in a stunning spot next to the ocean, OC Fresca is a bright and cheerful locale to take a seat and enjoy the beachy vibes. On the almost 1,200 square-foot dog-friendly patio that overlooks the ocean, guests can enjoy the salty air while listening to live music five nights a week. The almost 5,000 square-foot interior is reminiscent of a chic beach hut, with pops of color on the walls from the cheeky illustrations, colorful tile, natural woven light fixtures and reclaimed wood used throughout.
