Caruso Affiliated Appoints Jonathan Husby as VP of Restaurant Operations

carusoCaruso Affiliated announced today that it will build upon its first-class retail and fine dining destinations with a newly appointed vice president of restaurant operations, Jonathan Husby. Caruso Affiliated currently owns, in partnership with its operators, five fine-dining restaurants. In his new position, Husby will be responsible for overseeing these various restaurants within the Caruso Affiliated portfolio in order to maximize profitability and create best-in-class, memorable dining experiences for its guests, along with identifying other opportunities. Husby comes to Caruso Affiliated from Sinatra at Encore Las Vegas and will report directly to Jackie Levy, executive vice president of operations.

The appointment comes at a significant interval in the evolution of Caruso Affiliated, which is best known for its premier shopping and dining destinations, The Grove and The Americana at Brand. While ramping up retail projects by reinventing an entire retail street in the heart of Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood (Swarthmore Avenue), the company is currently spearheading a Grove-style project in Carlsbad, Calif. On the hospitality side, Caruso Affiliated is in the planning stages of The Miramar Beach Resort & Bungalows, its first 5-star resort, located in Montecito, Calif., and looks to develop more luxury apartment buildings in Los Angeles along the lines of its premier residential property, 8500 Burton Way, which is currently achieving the highest rents on the West Coast.

Bringing more than 15 years of experience within the hospitality industry, Husby spent the last five years as general manager of Sinatra at Encore Las Vegas.Under Husby’s direction, Sinatra received the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Restaurants award for four consecutive years. Additionally, while at Sinatra, Husby oversaw the much-anticipated opening of Andrea’s in 2012 at Encore Las Vegas. Prior to Husby’s time at Sinatra and Andrea’s, he managed numerous top-performing restaurants across the country, including, Daniel Boulud Brasserie at Wynn Las Vegas and Topper’s at The Wauwinet Inn on Nantucket Island, MA. At each location, Husby demonstrated a proven track record of providing impeccable food and service.His oversight at these various locations yielded high-profile recognition awards, including Michelin Star, Mobil Four Star, Wine Spectator Grand Award and Zagat Service Awards, among others. Husby earned a master of business administration from Columbia University.
