Chopped Champion, Chef Joe Youkhan is expanding his company, The Tasting Spoon from wheels to walls.
Chef Joe Youkhancreated his culinary company, The Tasting Spoon in 2010 with a gourmet Food Truck withthe larger goal of opening several restaurants. Thanks to their incredible clients and guests who continue to eat with them, they would like to expand from wheels to walls this year. He is very excited about finding a space to feed you his global comfort foods!
Youkhan has been an Executive Chef in Orange County for more than 15 years, several of those years as the Catering / Special Events Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. His father is also a Chef and Youkan worked the various positions in a restaurant growing up. His Nana lovingly created huge family style Assyrian meals for everyone to gather each week. He now has two sons of his own that are learning a passion for cooking with him.
As you know, there are a variety of costs when opening a restaurant. With kitchen equipment, furniture and technical equipment needed, the costs add up quickly. He is asking for $150,000, which will help him create a great space. Every penny counts and is incredibly appreciated. Even if his goal is not completely reached, your contribution will be a huge help to working towards making his dream of having a restaurant come true. He has been buying equipment along the way in anticipation of a restaurant and any funds received will continue to help him accumulate the items needed.
The Tasting Spoon team and Youkhan absolutely love feeding people and getting their reactions to something they created. Food is fun, personal, intimate and nourishing. Last year he was honored to be a part of the Healthy Schools Campaign, Cooking up Change with the Kid Healthy Charity. It is important to him to pay it forward and a portion of your contribution will be given to the No Kid Hungry Charity. His team is passionate about giving back. Beyond monetary donations, they have had the pleasure of adopting a family for a holiday meal, providing cookies for a craft project to The Military’s Children’s Charity and have auctioned a cooking class for The Children’s Diabetes Foundation.
It would mean a lot to him if you supported his efforts in the next year. Please check out their website (www.chefstastingspoon.com) for even more information on some of his current menu items, clients and customer feedback.
They have put together some great perks to thank you for your support. They are extremely grateful for any form of support you can give, whether it is by word of mouth, using the Indiegogo share tools to spread the campaign or a financial contribution, they are honored that you chose to help them!
