T S Restaurants and Moose Restaurant Group announced that Sandy’s restaurant located at 315 Pacific Coast Hwy was sold by T S Restaurants to Moose Restaurant Group on September 12, 2016. T S Restaurants has operated Sandy’s since January 2010. Both companies operate other successful restaurants in Huntington Beach. T S Restaurants owns and operates Duke’s Huntington Beach upstairs in the same building where Sandy’s is located. Moose Restaurant Group owns and operates Fred’s Mexican Café across the street on Pacific Coast Highway.
Moose Restaurant Group and T S share similar histories as both were founded in Hawaii more than 35 years ago, each by a pair of friends that loved the restaurant business. Moose Restaurant Group, was founded in 1980 with the opening of Moose McGillicuddy’s in Waikiki. Since then, they have expanded to San Diego, Maui and Orange County. Moose Restaurant Group has proven to be a successful player in the casual dining segment, with concepts focused on value and fun. “We have been looking to expand in Orange County and have been interested in the Sandy’s space for a number of years,” said Lee DeShong, President of Moose Restaurant Group. “We are thrilled to have purchased Sandy’s and look forward to building on what T S created.”
