The Newport Beach-based Bluewater Grill family of restaurants (eight restaurants in So Cal and Phoenix) has announced its ninth restaurant and second Catalina Island location.
Toyon Grill by Bluewater, a more casual version of the immensely popular Bluewater Avalon on Avalon Bay, will open by the end of the year in the Trailhead, the Catalina Island Conservancy’s new visitor center for Island visitors exploring Catalina’s 42,000+ acres of wildlands.
Named after the white-flowering Toyon prevalent on the Island, the view-oriented Toyon Grill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner plus specialty coffees, small-batch craft beers, cocktails and California wines. Specialties of the house include Pacific swordfish and white seabass caught in waters off the Island by Bluewater’s own boat, Pilikia.
