Dine LBC launches pop-up style dining

Dine LBC founder and organizer Terri Henry announced an experimental approach for a pop-up chef experience for diners to enjoy. Expanding beyond the annual restaurant week, this is an opportunity for local chefs to show their culinary creativity by providing multi-course menus in a unique space.

“The unique space represents a creative outlet for chefs and place of discovery for diners,” said Henry. “Local chefs can still pick a location of their choosing—a private home, friend’s restaurant, farm, art gallery, etc.—or they can use our network of spaces where we offer that extra layer of support and organization so they are able to focus on their food and the dining experience they want to create for guests.”

The first one is scheduled for August 5th and 6th, with more to come. Chef AC Boral has created a Filipino style brunch, calling it Rice & Shine, with inclusive contemporary twists. “I’ve been doing pop-ups for a few years now in downtown LA and Venice, but haven’t hosted one in my own hometown,” said Chef Boral. “Long Beach diner’s palettes are getting more adventurous, and the pop-up concept is such a fun one that I wanted to introduce RICE & SHINE here.” To learn more about Chef Boral, visit riceandshinebrunch.com.

Future Dine LBC pop-up events will range in price and style, including everything from $45 brunches to $85 five-course ethnic meals. Pop-up dining events are expected to be held once a month, with future featured chefs announced soon.
