WHO: Butterball Foodservice, the go-to turkey expert, is now accepting breakfast recipe submissions for The Turkey Takeover Contest: Early Bird Edition. In its third year, the contest is an extension of Butterball’s commitment to the success of professional chefs and culinary students.
WHAT: This Contest challenges professional chefs and culinary students to submit an original breakfast dish using Butterball turkey, including a recipe description and photo. Multiple entries are accepted. Butterball will select six finalists based upon the prominence of turkey within the breakfast dish, as well as its originality and visual appeal. The Finalists will be displayed on Butterball’s Facebook page, and fans will vote for their favorites. These votes and the scores from the first round of judging will determine the Runner-Up and Grand Prize winners. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. WHY: Butterball is giving professional chefs and culinary students a chance to be recognized for their culinary creativity, while demonstrating the versatility of turkey and the popularity of breakfast. In addition to taking home bragging rights, the six Finalists will receive a $50 pre-paid gift card, one Runner-Up will receive a $250 pre-paid gift card and one Grand Prize winner will receive a $500 pre-paid gift card.
WHEN: Entries are being accepted from 12:01 a.m. ET Aug. 7 to 11:59 p.m. ET Aug. 27. After six Finalists are determined, the Contest voting period will be open from 12:01 a.m. ET Sept. 11, 2017 to 11:59 p.m. ET Sept. 20, 2017. The Grand Prize and Runner-Up entries will be announced after Sept. 28, 2017.
