New Ruby’s Diner California Location set to Open March 1 at Promenade at Downey

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – February 23, 2017 – Ruby’s Restaurant Group is pleased to announce that the new full service Ruby’s Diner restaurant located at Promenade at Downey is set to open on March 1, 2017. The new Ruby’s Diner spans 3,100 square feet and will be the first location in the brand’s portfolio to debut table-top ordering technology through NorthStar Order Entry by Custom Business Solutions, Inc.

Downey will mark the first Ruby’ Diner where the customer can order, split tabs, pay the bill, and search for Ruby’s promotions conveniently through a digital touch menu located on the table. For those who prefer traditional service, a full staff is still available and on hand to assist with all customer needs. The digital menus are a product of NorthStar Order Entry, utilized by national brands such as The Melting Pot, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Johnny Carino’s and Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken.

Ruby’s Diner in Downey Franchise Owner, Abraham Kobi, local Southern California entrepreneur and veteran franchisee of Yogurtland, is committed to meeting the needs of the new location’s future customers. “We are excited to welcome the community into the new Ruby’s Diner location and feel that the table-top ordering technology plus our excellent service staff will make for a great dining experience for the whole family,” commented Kobi.

In addition to debuting table-top ordering technology, Ruby’s Restaurant Group has embarked on a partnership with Colorado-based supply chain co-op, SpenDifference. The partnership will benefit the entire Ruby’s Restaurant Group portfolio as SpenDifference follows a disciplined sourcing process to build strategies that leverage customers’ spend and specializes in commodity specification and procurement optimization.

“The launch of table-top ordering at the new Downey location and partnership with SpenDifference are both testaments to Ruby’s Diner’s commitment to innovation and evolution,” commented Mark Lyso, COO of Ruby’s Franchise Systems, Inc. “We are focused on sustainability and expansion as we move into 2017 and our 35th anniversary year.”
