Twice New foundation launched by event professionals Crystal Ortiz and Christina Rosenberg is an easy and seamless solution for matching perishable and non-perishable items from events and deliver to those in need. Twice New is making its debut on Thursday, August 10th from 7pm-10pm at Land Yacht Studios (525 Venezia Ave, Venice, CA). The launch event will serve as Twice News’ official introduction to the entertainment industry, giving a charitable alternative for event and hospitality professionals to turn their un-wanted goods into someone else’s treasure. The launch event will feature the musical stylings of Frankie C & The Klassics, Elan Artists, and hosted by Chef Alex Thomopoulos (Head Chef, Great White).

With decades of collective experience producing events all over the world, Christina Rosenberg and Crystal Ortiz were repeatedly confronted with the problem of extreme waste in the industry. Armed with their intimate knowledge of event production and their desire to make a difference came the inspiration for Twice New. Twice New aims to be an agent for change within the industry providing easy solutions for those involved to make more responsible decisions in disposing of food and other materials following their event or production while also serving hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality venues. Twice New will serve the Los Angeles and Orange County areas giving companies a better alternative to the usual disposal services as the fee and items donated are not only tax deductible but can also be easily re-purposed and useful for those in need.

“After all our years in the industry, Christina and I became frustrated with the amount of valuable items that were being tossed away by paid disposal services. As our search for a service like this with a donation component came up dry, we decided to start our own.” – Crystal Ortiz, co-founder of Twice New.

As hunger and homelessness is rising at an exponential level, the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act has enabled Twice New to also work with food donation in addition to supplies. “The Food Waste Reduction Alliance estimates that as much as 40 percent of the food prepared will never be consumed, yet an estimated 50 million Americans do not have access to enough food.” To help combat this statistic, one of Twice New’s flagship events will be a partnership with Cruisers Restaurant Group in Orange County, CA following their 3-year anniversary street fair. Twice New will be picking up all unused food following the event and donating it to The Orange County Rescue Mission.
