Solmar Hotels and Resorts announced the appointment of the Director of Food and Beverage for Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort and Spa. Celebrated culinary extraordinaire Chef Sergio Howland will oversee the entire food and beverage operations at Solmar Hotels and Resorts’ latest endeavor, Grand Solmar, a luxurious all-suite property scheduled to open at Land’s End in February 2011.
With over fifteen years in the culinary world, Chef Howland brings experience from around the globe to Grand Solmar with his specialty being in Mexican, French and Mediterranean cuisine. With previous experience in restaurant debuts and the hospitality and culinary industries, Chef Howland is armed with the knowledge to expertly oversee the entire food and beverage operations at Grand Solmar Land’s End Resort and Spa.

Using his degree from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Howland has contributed his skills to deluxe eateries worldwide including The Bristol Buenaventura, Panama, Three Michelin Star Arzak Restaurant, Spain, and the One Michelin Star Auberge du Soleil Restaurant, Napa Valley. Chef Howland’s experience in opening restaurants includes The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Boston New York City and Key Biscayne, Fl. Grand Solmar marks the the fourth hotel restaurant opening of Chef Howland’s career. Chef Howland has also previously worked in Los Cabos as the Executive Chef at Esperanza Resort from 2007 – 2009.
