Bruster’s Real Ice CreamTM, the country’s premium ice cream retail franchise, introduces the Bruster’s Cares initiative, in conjunction with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. For every SNICKERS ice cream product sold from June 15 to July 31, 2010, Bruster’s will donate one meal to Feeding America, up to a total value of $10,000.
“The Bruster’s Cares campaign gives customers the opportunity to do their part in the fight against hunger, while enjoying a delicious, fresh ice cream made with SNICKERS,” said Kim Piper, vice president of marketing. “It offers Bruster’s stores the means to give back to the local towns and neighborhoods in which they operate. When we learned that 1 in 6 Americans struggle with hunger – we knew we had to do something to help.”
The mission of Feeding America is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger. Member food banks support approximately 61,000 local charitable agencies and 70,000 programs, which provide food directly to individuals and families in need.
