Motley Brews Draws Record Breaking Attendance at Downtown Brew Festival Fifth Anniversary

Motley Brew

Saturday evening (Oct 22), a sold-out crowd of more than 4,000 craft beer fanatics celebrated the biggest Motley Brews’ Downtown Beer Festival to date. Guests were greeted with more than 200 of their favorite pours from over 60 local, national and international breweries, while the delicious aroma of beer-themed dishes and nonstop entertainment filled the intimate backyard setting of the Clark County Amphitheater during the fifth anniversary.

Highlighting the special celebration, Mayor Carolyn Goodman proclaimed Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 “Get Motley Day” in honor of the highly anticipated fall craft beer event, and fans were not disappointed. Festival goers discovered new tastes by sampling a variety of pale ales, IPAs, stouts, lagers, porters and more. Local favorites included fresh brews from PT’s Brewing Company, Tenaya Creek Brewery and Ellis Island Brewery, as well as national and international pours from Lagunitas Brewing, Indian Wells Brewing Co., Wasatch Brewery, Warsteiner and more.

While guests educated their palates, they were exposed to other beverage options such as hydration stations located throughout the footprint, RESQWATER Proactive Recovery to combat that morning hangover,  as well as White Claw Hard Seltzer, which offered fans an assortment of spiked sparkling waters.

Once festival goers worked up an appetite, they traveled to Festaraunt Row to dine on beer-infused menu items, as well as classics from Las Vegas’ restaurants and food trucks. Fan favorites included Naked City Tavern’s Pork and Beer, SLO-Boy’s Whiskey Bread Pudding, Truck U Barbeque’s Smoked Brisket Dip and Las Vegas Donut Bar’s Chocolate Euphoria. Additional food offerings were available from QFS Tacos, Mochiko Chicken, Oming’s Kitchen and PT’s Brewing Company.

VIP ticketholders enjoyed an exclusive experience, with a flavorful sampling of small bites prepared by celebrity chefs Gina Marinelli of D.O.C.G. Enoteca and Brian Howard inside the VIP Pavilion. Guests indulged in Marinelli’s Clam Cannellini Chowder with Smoked Scallion Oyster Cracker and BBQ Quail with Calabrian, while Howard showcased Wood Roasted Lamb Hearts with Walnut and Mint Pesto and Muhammara Crepes from his Sparrow + Wolf concept. Rare and discontinued pours were available to VIP guests, offering them the chance to sample brews not available to other guests, while Barefoot Bubbly provided sparkling wines and mimosas to complete the tasting experience.

Taste was not the only sense delighted at the festival; guests’ ears also enjoyed the party with new sounds from Josh Royse’s band Naked Elephant, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Green, and the electric blues tunes from The Routine.

Offering a safe and enjoyable experience, Motley Brews teamed up with Lyft to provide easy transportation options to and from the festival, as well as shuttle service coordinated with PKWY Tavern, where the official after party was held. A portion of proceeds from the event were donated to the Nevada Craft Brewers Association and the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation.
