Continuing a tradition of honoring esteemed chefs including Alain Giraud, Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (to name a few), Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) Food Fare is once again recognizing a Chef of the Year for 2017. This annual honor has been proudly presented to Annie Miler, chef and owner of Clementine in Los Angeles.
Annie Miler owns and operates Clementine, an esteemed bakery-café in Century City and Beverly Hills with a locally-sourced, seasonally rotating menu born from a marriage of Miler’s culinary family background and her travels as a chef. PPLA Food Fare is pleased to recognize Annie for her outstanding contributions to Los Angeles’ culinary culture as well as her dedication to PPLA’s mission to support community health, education and wellness.
In previous years, Food Fare has also recognized a Restaurateur of the Year – Jenny Rush (Blue Plate Restaurant Group, 2016) – and several outstanding Chefs of the Year, including Brooke Williamson and Nick Roberts (The Tripel, Playa Provisions, Hudson House, 2015), Celestino Drago (Drago Centro, 2014), Suzanne Goin (The Lucques Group, 2013), Joe Miller (Joe’s Restaurant, 2012), Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill, 2011) and Alain Giraud (Maison Giraud, 2010).
PPLA Food Fare is Los Angeles’ most highly anticipated annual foodie event. On Thursday, March 2, 2017, this gastronomic affair will showcase over 100 of Southern California’s best chefs, restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries and retail merchants, as well as great raffle prizes and an amazing silent auction. Food Fare is PPLA’s largest fundraising event of the year, with proceeds benefiting its vital health care and education programs. There is uncertainty ahead of us, and the country, and Planned Parenthood health centers may face renewed attacks. But one thing is certain – Planned Parenthood’s doors stay open–no matter what, so that everyone can access health care in a safe and welcoming place.
