The Salt Creek Grille in Dana Point hosted a “What IWant To Be” cooking class fora group of pre-schoolers from the Laguna Niguel based Mission Lutheran school. Executive Chef Scott Robbeinstructed and involved the pre-schoolers in the preparation of tossed fresh greens with ranch, personal pizza with marinara sauce, and chocolate chip cookies a la mode. The class also included a lecture for the children informing them of the different job opportunites in the industry and a behind the scenes look of the restaurant industry. The childrenwere given employee numbers and instructed to clock in just as regular employees. At the end of the class the “lil chefs” were presented with a $25 gift card for their hard days work.
