On Saturday, June 11th guests enjoyed an evening of tray passed appetizers, signature cocktails, and a lively ambiance hosted by STARFISH, the newest restaurant in Laguna Beach. The evening officially launched the grand opening of STARFISH as well as a fundraiser benefiting the local Pacific Marine Mammal Center.
Over eight thousand dollars was collected through generous donations from guests of the party. The money raised will go to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals stranded along the Orange County coastline. The organization also focuses on increasing public awareness of the marine environment through education and research.
This organization was chosen by the owner, Nancy Wilhelm, because having lived and worked in Laguna Beach for many years, Wilhelm feels a responsibility to raise more awareness for the marine environment and to give back to the local community.
