Surfas Culinary District Hires Stacy Horn as Culinary Events Manager

Surfas Culinary District proudly announces Stacy Horn as the Culinary Events Manager and Chef Instructor of its Costa Mesa Store. Horn will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the store’s spacious Test Kitchen as well as scheduling guest chef demonstrations, filming, book signings, cooking class rentals, corporate meetings and private events. Horn also plans to launch Surfas’ first ever hands-on cooking classes.
“I am excited to bring my talents to a place that opens up the restaurant supply and trade business to the everyday foodie and elated about enhancing the Surfas experience by teaching our customer even more innovative ways to enjoy cooking.” Horn said about her new role.
Horn joins Surfas with notable experience as both a chef and chef instructor in the culinary industry, including stints at The Wynn and the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Horn has an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts and has studied Hospitality, Food and Beverage Management and Event Management in both the US and Europe. She has extensive experience in instructing and simplifying new and innovative cooking techniques in a hands-on and demonstration style atmosphere.Most recently, she has been the Resident Chef at Sur La Table where she was managed all aspects of the culinary program within a Sur La Table retail store.
Stacy will launch Surfas Costa Mesa’s hands on cooking class program, personally creating many of the menus. Each cooking classes will be taught by Stacy or a featured chef instructor and will be held in Surfas’ state-of-the-artProfessional Test Kitchen. The engaging classes will accommodate approximately 10 participants with generous tasting of each dish and take home recipes.
