Moulin in Newport Adds Chef’s Dinner: Le Burger

662

Moulin in Newport Beach has added a monthly mainstay to its popular Tuesday night Chef’s Dinner – Le Burger.

On the first Tuesday of every month, the menu will highlight a new variation of Moulin’s hand-formed prime beef hamburger.

Proprietor Laurent Vrignaud proves to be keeping pace with Paris as the iconic American dish reached peak popularity in France last month. According to Forbes, a study published in March by Paris-based restaurant consulting firm, Gira Conseil, confirms that sales of the famed French jambon-beurre baguette were surpassed by sales of the classic American-style hamburger for the first time in history; with 70% of burger sales coming from upscale full-service restaurants.

Le Burger has made occasional appearances on our lunch Plat du Jour, and because of its increasing popularity at Moulin, we decided to make it a regular addition to our Chef’s Dinner,” comments Montmartre native Laurent Vrignaud, whose bustling French bistro is recognized as Orange County’s portal to Paris. “Moulin is my ode to the culture of Paris. This report was released a few weeks after Le Burger made its dinner debut, conveying just how in-tune our menu is to the Parisian palate.”

At the beginning of each month, a new variation of Le Burger is offered on Moulin’s Tuesday night Chef’s Dinner. The preparation of the burger changes each month, allowing the restaurant to showcase its variety of house-baked artisan breads and assortment of French cheeses while highlighting seasonal ingredients like heirloom tomatoes in July and French truffles in November.

Each month, Le Burger is served with a side of roasted potatoes and a mixed greens salad; a glass of French wine or beer; and one of Moulin’s signature desserts from the patisserie all for $29.
