In an attempt to help us take a break from our hectic lives and sit down to a home-cooked meal with family and friends, Taco Rosa Chef/Founder Ivan Calderón introduces Tablitas to his already celebrated menu of contemporary Mexico City cuisine.
“My focus is about honoring our ancestors, the earth, and our bodies, but we can’t overlook the soul,” comments Chef Calderón, who serves only hand-pressed GMO-free corn masa and tortillas at his restaurants. “We all need to unplug and make time to reconnect with family and friends – my Tablitas for Four were designed to bring people together to share a meal.”.
Taco Rosa Tablitas, or platters, are offered with the following Traditional and Seafood options:
TRADITIONAL TABLITA FOR FOUR – 12-ounce prime frenched pork chop, chile rellenos (2), and Mexico City & chicken mole enchiladas (2 each); served with Mexican rice, pinto beans and hand-pressed corn tortillas
SEAFOOD TABLITA FOR FOUR – wild sea bass sarandeado, seafood paella, and calamari tacos; served with seasonal roasted veggies, black beans & hand-pressed corn tortillas
In addition, a TAQUIZA TABLITA FOR TWO features skirt steak, free-range chicken breast and prawns, served over caramelized onions, alongside pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeno salsa, Mexican rice, refried pinto beans and hand-pressed tortillas.
“For a more intimate dining experience, I’ve added a Taquiza Tablita for Two, which features skirt steak, free-range chicken breast and prawns,” explains Chef Calderón. “A taquiza is basically a family-style dining experience, where family and friends gather to enjoy each other’s company over good food and drinks. This tablita features a little taste of everything, so guests can craft their perfect taco.”
