Pie-Not, Orange County’s only Aussie-style bakery, has today announced that they will be expanding their vegetarian savory pies and delectable sweet treats to Whole Foods Market in Tustin, CA, beginning Thursday, August 28, 2014. Whole Foods Market, the leading supermarket providing the finest natural and organic foods available, with an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture, will carry five of Pie-Not’s vegetarian selections. The items will be baked daily on-site, and available in the Ready-to-Eat’ prepared foods section of the market.
A total of five varieties from Pie-Not will be available at Whole Foods Market Tustin on Jamboree. The Pie-Not team was committed to developing and testing new vegetarian and vegan options specifically for Whole Foods Market to align with their mission to provide all-natural and preservative free products.
The selections that will be available at Whole Foods Market include:
- The Vege Patch Pie (a medley of garden fresh vegetables in a tomato puree w/ herbes de Provence in a shortcrust pastry shell w/ a puff pastry lid, $6.50)
- The Hippie Roll (spinach, ricotta, walnuts, Swiss and Gruyere cheeses, and cayenne, $4.00)
- The “vegan” Ghandi (Indian spiced chickpeas, potatoes, cauliflower, carrot and butternut squash in a shortcrust pastry parcel, $4.50)
- The Apple & Cinnamon, and Strawberry & Rhubarb Map-A-Tassies (light puff pastry triangle stuffed with rough cut seasonal fruit filling and dusted with icing sugar, $3.00)
All of the sweet and savory offerings will be packaged in Pie-Not’s traditional brown paper sleeve. The Tustin, CA Whole Foods Market is the first major expansion for Pie-Not, and the team is looking forward to expanding to other Whole Foods Market in the SoCal area.
