17th St. Grill, Tustin’s popular neighborhood restaurant and bar, will expand to open an exclusive Jazz lounge on Friday, August 20. Veteran restaurateur Joseph Luby builds upon on the success of his community restaurant with the expansion of JoJo’s Hideaway – a sultry 40-seat live music lounge and dinner club offering elevated contemporary cuisine, classic cocktails, and curated lineup of musicians including local and national premier talent.
Since its inception in 2016, 17th St. Grill has found its niche in the community by offering approachable classics during breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With the unveiling of JoJo’s Hideaway, Luby raises the bar to offer an exclusive dining experience which draws inspiration from Orange County’s iconic restaurants and institutions. JoJo’s Hideaway is intimate and exclusive; candlelit tables, velvet drapery, and curated art spread across mahogany-colored walls create an old-school, sultry ambiance. Guests should dress to impress in business casual or cocktail attire. Ultra-exclusive offers and VIP perks will be available through membership opportunities.
“After a year of isolation, JoJo’s Hideaway presents the perfect space for the community to come together and celebrate the good life in style,” comments owner Joseph Luby, who draws upon decades of experience in hospitality management for restaurant groups including Lawry’s and McCormick & Schmicks. “Our ‘Great American Songbook’-style evenings will offer guests a transcendent dining experience, brought to life with soulful music and a soulful menu to match.”
Tapped to create the menu is Executive Chef Roman Jimenez, who’s led the kitchen at notable eateries like TAPS Brewery & Barrel Room and Macallan’s Irish Pub. Known for his inventive fare, Jimenez debuts a farm-to-table menu featuring stand-out options like Duck Rillettes Toast, Pan-Seared Halibut with turmeric cous cous, and a Snake River Farms 46oz Tomahawk. The menu is curated with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and modern approaches to classic culinary techniques.
Managing Partner Ken Klein, an acclaimed musician and entertainment producer, has curated notable talent and performers from around the country including Platinum award-winning artists like guitarist Mike Hamilton, and three-time Grammy award-winner Bili Redd, drummer David Tull, as well as local acts like Tony Guerrero and Barbara Morrison. The lineup of upcoming performers at JoJo’s Hideaway will be available on its website.
JoJo’s Hideaway is located adjacent to 17th St. Grill the heart of Tustin (17320 17th St., Suite B) and is open for dinner Wednesday – Saturday from beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit their website.
