You can count on this unlikely duo to be the first to pull up their pant legs, hop into a vat of grapes and stomp them to commemorate one of Italy’s most popular annual traditions celebrating local winemakers and the harvesting of grapes. Restaurateur Antonio Cagnolo and NFL legend Vince Ferragamo, 2 of OC’s most famous Italian Americans, will join forces for the 2nd time to recreate the centuries-oldVendemmiaon Sunday, September 7 from 1 4 p.m. Those attending will have an opportunity to go grape stomping as well as enjoy a 3-course sit-down Italian dinner, wine tasting, live music and both live & silent auctions. The event, which will be held on the park-like grounds near Antonello Ristorante at South Coast Plaza Village, will benefit Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) to help provide the highest quality of medical care to seriously ill children. Tickets, which are $85, $40 for children 6-12, may be purchased by visiting www.festivalofchildren.org/vendemmia.
The event is being hosted by Cagnolo and his wife, Fiorella, and Ferragamo and his wife, Jodi, and is being coordinated in conjunction with the Vince Ferragamo Foundation.
