The Grand Del Mar in San Diego announces the promotion of Joseph Martinez to the position of maitre d’ of Addison, California’s only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond and Relais & Chi¢teaux Grand Chef restaurant. Martinez, who has served as lead captain at Addison for the past three years will be responsible for supervising and training front of the house staff.
Addison Director and Executive Chef William Bradley said, “We have valued Joseph’s dedication to providing our guests with the highest level of the fine dining experience, and now I look forward to working with him as our maitre d.”
Martinez’s pursuit of perfect service has always been his career aspiration. He has been working in the hospitality industry for over 10 years. Previous to joining the culinary team at Addison, he served an 18-month term as manager of Donovan’s Steak & Chop House in San Diego.
A native of San Diego, Martinez is a Certified Sommelier, Level II. He enjoys spending his free time at the gym with interests in health, nutrition and meal planning.
