Brea’s Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen Hosts Four-Day Charity Event

Cha Cha’s Latin Kitchen, located in Downtown Brea off of Birch Street, is currently hosting a four-day charity event that began on Monday, June 25th, and will be ending on Thursday, June 28th. The event is to support a local single mother named Linda, who raises two beautiful daughters and was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer.

When Linda was first diagnosed she was told by doctors that the cancer had reached stage 2, but it has since proven more aggressive than thought and in May reached stage 3. The chemotherapy she has been receiving for treatment is too harsh for her body. The doctors have had to slow down her treatment because it is also damaging her heart. Now Linda is not only fighting cancer, but heart failure as well. She has had to quit her job and is raising her children in a local hotel.

When Cha Cha’s owners, Don Myers and Peter Serantoni, heard about Linda’s story they decided to find a way to give back to the community that has been supporting them since they opened.

“This is our way of saying thank you,” says Myers.

During the event, the restaurant will be offering guests a “Giveback Menu” consisting of three courses for a price of $24.95. Ten dollars from each sale will be donated to Linda and her family to aid with her medical costs. Guests who want to donate more can bring money or gift cards to Cha Cha’s, or to Southland Church located on 2950 East Imperial Highway in Brea.
