Chef David Myers announces the planned opening of an Italian pizzeria restaurant to join the David Myers Group portfolio in 2012. Following recent openings in Las Vegas and Tokyo, Myers will expand the successful Pizzeria Ortica concept that focuses simply on the beloved trinity of pizza, pasta and antipasti.
“I have always found inspiration and a commonality between the simple elegance of Italian cooking and the California lifestyle,” says Myers. “As with all of my restaurants, this will continue to deconstruct my travels through Italy plate by plate.”
Taking cues from its vibrant location, the restaurant will lend itself to a small, ever-changing menu of local farmer’s market finds that express the depth and variety of Italy’s vast culinary landscape. As at Myers’ popular Pizzeria Ortica in Orange County, pizzas will be made with a 300-year old biga, spanning styles simple to creative, from a classic Margherita to more complex ingredients such as house-cured pork cheek and fennel pollen. True to the philosophy of David Myers’ celebrated “18A” speakeasy cocktail program, the menu will be complemented by eclectic wine selections and hand-crafted cocktails made with fresh herbs and spices.
So exciting and tastiness coming in Spring 2012!
