Darden Restaurants, Florida owner of several restaurant chains, recently bought Yard House USA Inc. in a $585 million deal. The restaurant was formerly owned by San Francisco private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners LLC, which aquired a 70 percent stake in the company in 2007.
Darden currently operates chains like Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Longhorn Steakhouse, and Yard House will be joining their Specialty Restaurant Group, which includes brands like The Capital Grille and Bahama Breeze.
Yard House Chief Executive and President Harald Herrmann will be staying on as president of the classic-rock themed restaurants, with their wide selection of draft beers.
