With less than a week to go, diners can now start planning and plotting their culinary outings for Eat LBC, Long Beach Restaurant Week, March 30-April 5, 2014. Eat LBC is the city’s first-ever Restaurant Week and more than 50 eateries will be taking part in the citywide event by offering special three-course, prix fixe menus available at either $26 or $38 per person excluding tax and gratuity. Many restaurants have begun accepting reservations, either through their own websites or at OpenTable.com, and many of the participating casual restaurants won’t require reservations at all.
Several of the city’s district neighborhoods are represented, from Downtown to Uptown, Bixby Knolls to Belmont Shore, as well as the waterfront, East Village, Cal Heights, PCH Corridor, East Anaheim/Zafaria District, Naples Island, and neighboring Seal Beach.
Many of Eat LBC sponsors are offering special incentives and offers, including a special introductory rate for new subscribers to the Long Beach Register, up to $20 off for first-time UBER riders, $10 off for first-time Long Beach Yellow Cab riders, and a pair of round-trip tickets on JetBlue for one lucky winner who enters Eat LBC’s Facebook Photo Contest – no purchase necessary.
Other sponsors include the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as Angels Radio AM 830, who broadcasted live with The SoCal Radio Show with Chef Jet Tila on March 23 at Eat LBC’s Launch Party. The invitation-only Launch Party, taking place at the Federal Bar’s new Underground, also benefited Food Finders, a local non-profit and community-based food rescue organization.
Eat LBC, Long Beach Restaurant Week, is a seven consecutive-day, non-ticketed dining event designed to showcase Long Beach and its many casual-to-elegant restaurants. The spotlight is on the city’s global cuisine, but the event is for a very local audience with more than 50 restaurants participating citywide creating a “movable feast” with value-oriented, three-course menus offered at either $26 or $38. Participating restaurants include wine bars, gastropubs, sidewalk cafes, fine dining establishments, pizzerias, vegan venues, and more.
East LBC, Long Beach Restaurant Week, takes place March 30-April 5, 2014. For a complete list of participating restaurants and to preview Eat LBC menus, visit www.eatlbc.com.
