Fireside Tavern Offers Added Comfort in Time for Fall

Executive Chef Scott Brandon’s menu highlights the comfort foods with an emphasis on fresh, local flavors

Executive Chef Scott Brandon is offering up a side of comfort on his already celebrated menu of American favorites atFireside Tavern.The eatery, located within the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa (3131 Bristol Street),features dishes highlighting the flavors of fall with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

For Breakfast, guests can look forward to Irish Steel-Cut Oatmeal with maple, brown sugar, dried fruit, and hand-churned butter; and a Tavern Skillet Scramble with organic eggs, Nueske bacon, Tillamook cheddar, avocado, roasted tomatoes and skillet potatoes.

Chef Brandon’s Lunch menu warm Parkerhouse Rolls, Royal Red Rock Shrimp Hush Puppies, and Grilled Flatbread with Spanish chorizo and smoked mozzarella. It is only topped by the Fireside dinner menu, which features a Grilled Loch Duart Salmon with chilled heirloom tomato gazpacho; 10 oz. Grilled Prime Top Sirloin with bone marrow butter; and Grilled Colorado Lamb Chop with harissa marinade and a roasted vegetable & red quinoa risotto with mint gremolata.

In addition to the new seasonal lineup of tempting breakfast, lunch and dinner items, Fireside Tavern offers a menu of rich desserts including Strawberry Rhubarb Pie in a Jar served a la mode; a decadent Ice Box Cake topped with housemade whipped cream and a Scharffen Berger ganache; and Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies served alongside a chilled glass of “adult” chocolate milk.

Fireside is located in the Crowne Plaza at 3131 Bristol Street, off the San Diego (405) Freeway, in Costa Mesa. The restaurant is open daily for a breakfast buffet from 6 to 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. There are two Happy Hours, from 3 to 7 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. until midnight.
