The first annual Farm To Table International Symposium (F2Ti), producedby the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention in partnership with the SoFAB Institute, was hailed as a success by more than 400 culinary professionals, academics, policymakers, legal professionals, food writers, farmers and other agricultural professionals who gathered in New Orleans to hear leading practitioners in the burgeoning farm-to-table movement and explore the cultivation, distribution, and consumption of food and drink sourced locally to globally.

The three-day event featured keynote addresses from industry leaders such as former Texas Commissioner of Agriculture and media personality, Jim Hightower; White House Executive Pastry Chef William Yosses; Los Angeles Unified School District Director of Food Services David Binkle; Food Historian William Rubel; and Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Mike Strain. The “Restaurant Roundtable” panel discussion, moderated by SoFAB Institute Vice President Philip M. Dobard, featured Chefs and Restaurateurs Brandon Boudet, Dickie Brennan, John Folse, Anne Hart & Stephen Stryjewski, who discussed how they came to adopt and integrate farm-to-table practices in their operations and how the farm-to-table ethic informs their work in the kitchen.
