Lazy Dog’s New Summer Menu

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, a leader in the upscale casual dining sector known for its from-scratch kitchen and hand-crafted dishes has refreshed their menu with new seasonal offerings for summer that continue to blend comforting classics with globally-inspired flavors. The new dishes from Executive Chef Gabriel Caliendo focus on small, shareable bites and new additions to the Nutritious & Delicious menu that highlight the bounty of summer produce – perfect for diners looking to lighten up for the warmer months to come. The new menu items will be available starting May 22nd at all restaurants in the Lazy Dog family.

The new small plates, perfect for a shared starter to pass around the communal table or as a light meal, include the Ceviche Tostadas, a chilled marinated shrimp and snapper combo on a trio of housemade crispy tostadas atop fresh guacamole and topped with micro cilantro, and Golden Beets & Goat Cheese tossed in a red wine vinaigrette and paired with spring greens, candied walnuts and an edible flower garnish.

With a continued goal of providing healthy options to guests with their Nutritious & Delicious menu, which features dishes under 650 calories, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar will also debut a fresh slew of items ideal for those looking for a lighter meal. Lavash Crisp Pizzas like the Jerk Chicken, Margherita, and Mediterranean satisfy pizza cravings in half-crisp portions (or as full-crisps on the regular menu), and the Lemon-Caper Chicken Pasta with sauteed chicken breast, vegetable ratatouille, fresh spinach and spiral pasta tossed in a lemon-caper sauce is comfort in a bowl. Other additions include the Ahi Nicoise Salad with seared rare tuna, spring greens, marinated tomatoes, roasted red peppers, Kalamata olives, crisp radish and a hard-boiled egg; and the Chimichurri Mahi Mahi with a cilantro chimichurri sauce, nestled on bed of black beans and topped with pickled veggies.

As part of their mission to bring fresh flavor to comforting classics, Chef Gabe has also re-conceptualized traditional favorites with unique spins. A Grilled Chicken Pomegranate Caesar Salad upgrades the favorite with crispy lavash croutons, pomegranate seeds and a drizzle of pomegranate molasses. A Garlic Thyme Roasted Chicken served over farro with a lemony white wine sauce and vegetable ratatouille, similarly fuses comfort with nuance.

In addition to the seasonal dishes, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar will simultaneously introduce their summer mason jar cocktail, Peaches & Moonshine, perfect for enjoying on the dog-friendly patio during the warm days and nights ahead. The limited time cocktail features Stillhouse Moonshine, peaches, fresh mint, cranberry juice, ginger beer and house made sweet & sour.

All menu items will be available at each restaurant in the Lazy Dog family in Southern California and the Bay Area starting May 22nd, and will also be available at their forthcoming restaurant in Oxnard once it opens this June.
