Les Deux, Part III

468

In the late ’90s, a sketchy parking lot was the gateway to the city’s coolest fine dining resto. When it became a nightclub, you were shocked that the once low-key French oasis resembled a drag queen’s haunted house.

Prepare to be amazed again. Starting with today’s soft opening, perennial Hollywood hotspot Les Deux morphs into a neighborhood gastropub. The formerly dimly lit space has been transformed with expanses of glass, bright green chairs, and striped booths reminiscent of a modern bistro.

Dine on Angus beef burger wedges, Jidori chicken with Brussels sprouts and bacon lardons, and bourbon brioche pudding. Sip cocktails like the Smashed Irishman (Jameson, lemon, basil, red bell pepper, honey, Guinness reduction) or challenge one of the mixologists to make something just for you.

You do like surprises.

Les Deux, 1638 North Las Palmas Avenue, between Hollywood Boulevard and Selma Avenue, Hollywood (323-467-0200).
