The Beer Institute recently released research data that indicates beer sales in restaurants were up over 9 percent in 2011, totaling over $23 billion. Growth in beer sales can be attributed to a sudden and periodic rise in the restaurant industry.
The National Restaurant Association (NRA) have predicted a 3.5 percent jump in beer sales in restaurants and over 10,000 new establishments in 2012. According to the latest Beer Serves America study, the beer industry directly and indirectly supports approximately 1.8 million American jobs including those at our nation’s 547,000 beer-selling retail establishments.
“Restaurants are having an enormous impact in introducing the many great brands of beer to consumers,” says President of the Beer Institute, Joe McClain.”Restaurant patrons are trying new brands and styles on draft and bringing that new brand loyalty to off-premise retail channels. The boost in restaurant beer sales shows there is a beer for every palate.”
