Wendy’s/Arby’s said it is exploring strategic alternatives that is likely to result in a sale of the Arby’s chain, which would allow the company to focus its resources on expanding the better-performing Wendy’s brand in the U.S. and overseas. Arby’s, known for its roast beef sandwiches, has trailed Wendy’s in performance and is expected to announce its first quarterly same-store sales increase since 2006.
