If Olivier and Nathalie Bocchino have it their way, Corona del Mar residents will never again eat fake French baked goods.
The Bocchinos opened Rendez-Vous in the former Petit Bateau space bringing their successes with them from a cafe they sold in Breckenridge, Colo. The couple is from Provence, France and first visited the United States while on their honeymoon nearly 20 years ago.
Rendez-Vous serves savory and sweet crepes, sandwiches, coffee drinks, quiche, bread and pastries including Bi»che de Noi«ls at Christmas, they said. The walls inside have been covered with posters from Provence as well as antique European coffee grinders, and they play authentic French music.
