Stonefire Grill to Celebrate 10th Anniversary With Proclamation… “Let Them Eat Cake!”

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Stonefire Grill restaurants will offer guests a voucher for a free slice of its signature carrot cake to be enjoyed anytime through October 31, 2010 (no purchase required). Guests, who are encouraged to make a minimum $1 donation in exchange for the vouchers, may visit any of the locations including West Hills, Pasadena, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Chatsworth and Thousand Oaks. The voucher giveaway will take place all day on Sunday, September 26.

Those opting for the real thing may attend a massive party at the site of the original Stonefire Grill in Valencia that same day where lunch will be served along with slices from the world’s largest carrot cake – a 10′ x 10′ concoction – also for a minimum $1 donation (all proceeds are benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Stonefire Grill founders Mary & Maureen Harrigan said that they hope to raise $20,000 for the foundation that day. Their nephew, Brendan, is a 23-year-old survivor of the often-fatal lung disease. The anniversary party at the Valencia location (23300 Cinema Drive) will take place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“Carrot cake was served at all family functions from birthdays and anniversaries to holidays and graduations,” said Mary Harrigan. “When we were planning this milestone 10th anniversary party, there was no doubt that our signature dessert would take on a central role.”
