The owner of the Surf City USA brand of sodas has entered into a sales agreement with Supervalu, inc., the parent company of Albertsons. The agreement brings Dennis Midden, owner of Brewbakers, a micro-brewery in Huntington Beach into all four Huntington Beach Albertsons.
Albertsons is selling “Surf City Root Beer”, and five brands of the Brewbakers line of beers, including “Surf City Blonde,” “Surf City Coffee Stout,” “Noble Brown Ale,” “Pier Plaza Heffe-Heisse Wheat Beer,” and “Surf City Red Ale.”
The addition of Brewbakers at all Huntington Beach Albertsons, falls in conjunction with Albertson’s “100 Days of Summer” promotion, whereby every 100th customer receives their groceries free.
“I’m thrilled about Albertson’s continued commitment to our area, which includes unique businesses like Brewbakers,” said Joe Carchio, Mayor of Huntington Beach.
Early Brewbaker sales indicate a Surf City success at Albertsons, which may fuel interest to add other Brewbaker products, such as Dennis Midden’s Pretzel Bites.
