Globe-Belgian-Gastropub-ClosureThe Globe Belgian Gastropub has sold his lease and will be closing July 27th with the “Last Supper” to be on July 26th. Michael Pauwels will be re-branding his global concept in the following year with a new restaurant called the “New World Abbey”, which comes from the concept of converting old church sites to a Public House where people gather for global cuisine and the finest craft beers from around the world. The concept will involve New World Abbey brewing their own beers also, but Michael’s Belgian roots will carry over from The Globe with his fabulous collection of Belgian Beers served in authentic glassware.

Why a church? Michael has had his eye on a historic church site in OC which he will be his first conversion.
The Monks were the first Brewmasters. The Order of Cistercians was founded in 1098 when monks from the Benedictine abbey of Molesme left to form their own monastery in nearby Citeaux, France. Trappist History:
