The Rooftop Lounge, a Laguna Beach-local favorite, which recently underwent a renovation and rebrand, is now reopened to the public. Situated atop the historic La Casa Del Camino Hotel, guests of The Rooftop Lounge can once again enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean while enjoying Californian casual cuisine and sipping on a selection of signature craft cocktails. For a limited- time, in order to ensure safe social distancing regulations, reservations are highly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
The Rooftop Lounge’s Executive Chef Christophe Bonnegrace created a revamped menu featuring coastal-inspired appetizers, salads, and entrees, such as the Crab Cake with Lemon Pepper Aioli, yellow-fin tuna, and salmon Sashimi Platter, and whole Beach Branzino. Traditional fare includes the Outskirt Beef Steak— served with yukon gold roasted garlic pomme puree, charred broccolini, and a black garlic demi glace, as well as an elevated take on the hamburger which is topped with roasted tomato, lettuce, bacon, avocado, pepper Jack cheese, and Del Camino sauce, served on a brioche bun with a side of sweet potato fries and spicy maple syrup.
The signature cocktail menu, curated by mixologist Billy Ray, includes classic mojitos and margaritas, as well as house specialties such as the Laguna Sunset, made with tequila, ancho verde, lime & watermelon juice, and spicy rum.
“The Rooftop Lounge and La Casa Del Camino have been destinations for locals and visitors alike for decades, and it was important for us to revamp the atmosphere to invoke the building’s roots in Hollywood’s golden age with this renovation,” said Director of Food & Beverage Spencer Kushner. “We are thrilled to finally reveal this reimagined rooftop dining experience to our guests and to the Laguna Beach community.”
The restaurant’s makeover comes courtesy of Los Angeles-based interior design studio M. Winter Design, whose founder Matt Winter is known for using his eclectic and unique eye to create authentic atmospheres and lifestyle destinations using vintage pieces that are praised by collectors, designers, and enthusiasts alike. New furnishing and finishes include rattan bistro seating, treated wood tables, lush greenery, and original Spanish tile accents, which complement the coastal skyline and the hotel’s historical charm.
