Plan on paintin’ the town red this New Year’s Eve? Before you start drawing straws for designated driver, check this out. AAA of Southern California will be offering a “Tipsy Tow” service starting at 6 p.m. on December 31 and running until 6 a.m. January 1. If you and your automobile are stranded within 7 miles of home, you can call the “Tipsy Tow” hotline and AAA will tow you – and your car – back home for free. A little farther than 7 miles? They’ll still come get ya, you just need to pay normal towing expenses (cheaper than a DUI, right?).
Although the service is only offered for the driver and car, the rest of your gang can take advantage of Orange County Transportation Authority’s free bus ride offer. From 6 p.m. December 31 to 2:30 a.m. January 1, you can hop on an OCTA bus without charge – just make sure to check the participating schedules and routes.
