Tortilla Republic, recognized for inventive Mexican fare within an inviting yet stylish setting at its locations in West Hollywood and Kauai, officially opens its doors in the beautiful coastal community of Laguna Bach, CA on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Owners Morten Kaag, John Halter, and Mina Azami, in collaboration with Kirk Pereira Design, designed the concept to effortlessly capture the coastal lifestyle of its luxurious surrounding locale.
Developed by Tortilla Republic’s Consulting Chef Cathy Shyne, the modern Mexican menu is inspired by fresh seafood and locally-sourced, organic ingredients. Delicious new items that will be exclusively available in Laguna Beach include Vegetarianas Enchiladas with spinach, asparagus, chayote, Mexican cheeses, salsa macha and crema fresca; and Sweet Potato and Beef Empanadas with chimichurri sauce and cilantro. The cocktail program includes handcrafted margaritas, cocktails, and a selection of over 100 blue agave spirits, such as Fortaleza, 123 Organic Tequila (Uno Dos Tres), and Tequila Ocho. Menu pricing ranges from $5-13 for appetizers/salads, $15-28 for entrees, and $9-13 for most cocktails and margaritas.
Guests are invited to take advantage of the two outdoor dining terraces, perfect for a sunset cocktail during the summer season. Alternatively, the courtyard patio located at the center of the restaurant boasts a retractable roof for “indoor” al fresco dining. A stunning bar with a westerly onyx cap serves as the restaurant’s focal point, and proudly displays a multitude of unique, rare tequilas artfully placed on a 360 degree shelf hovering high over the bar.
