According to the National Retail Association, 54 percent of U.S. consumers plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year with total spending expected to reach approximately $17.3 billion. Specifically, 51.2 percent plan on giving a greeting card, 48.7 percent plan on giving candy as a gift, 37.3 percent plan on giving flowers as a gift, 19 percent plan on giving Jewelry as a gift, 15.8 percent plan on giving clothing as a gift and 37 percent plan on celebrating with an evening out.
