Yard House Restaurants is planning on opening their first location in Seattle, Washington. The new location will be opening in Downtown Seattle, at Century Square off of Fourth Avenue, in a building that used to operate as Borders Books and Music store. It will be Yard House’s first location in the state of Washington.
“Seattle is an exceptional city, and we’re excited to be part of the community,” said president and CEO of Yard House Restaurants, Harald Herrmann. “The location, adjacent to Westlake Park in the heart of downtown’s vibrant retail and financial districts, within walking distance to hotels and offices, and just a fish-toss from Pike’s Place Market, is ideal. We’re looking forward to opening early next year.”
Yard House Restaurants made their start in 1996 when Steele Platt opened the first location inLong Beach, California. They’re known for their extensive selection of beers on tap, and they cater to a wide mix of guests who enjoy the items available on their menu, which include shareable snacks, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pasta, steak, and seafood.
The seattle location will have 130 taps of draft beer available, including local and regional brews, the restaurant’s signature island bar, a glass enclosed room with over 500 kegs of beer, a select wine list, and a full bar and menu of Fresh and Skinny cocktails at 176 calories or less. Guests will be able to enjoy watching their favorite sporting events from one of the many flat screens along the walls of the restaurant, as well as listen to the continual playlist of classic and contemporary rock playing in the background.
The company will be looking to hire more than 200 residents in the surrounding area in late 2012, as the restaurant is expected to open early 2013.
