STACKED: Food Well Built just opened its third location in Cerritos to guests ready to use iPads to stack their own custom made burger, pizza or salad.
CERRITOS, Ca. Nov. 17, 2011andmdash;A new fast casual dining option, STACKED, opened today to diners eager to try design-your-own meals. After being seated, servers demo the iPads on each table, then leave guests to play with the rolling menus of burgers, pizzas, salads and sausages; along with endless toppings, sauces and extras.
Start with pizza. Next choose from pizza, white or BBQ sauce; top smoked gouda, brie or mozzarella cheese; then stack meatballs, pulled pork or honey smoked salmon; add mushrooms, Fresno chilis, or fresh basil; or more in every category. Each time you use your finger to slide over a topping, the price on top of the screen changes. Salmon is an extra $5 or so, onions about 50andcent;. Too expensive? Slide it off and the price drops back down. Many ingredients only add small amounts to the total.
Once you and your table companions have made decisions, simply push the send-to-kitchen button. Your burger, salad, pizza, soup, sausage, sides, cookie sandwich or shakes are brought to the table when ready.
