Porch & Swing is an homage to the Lowcountry. A tribute to the cuisine of Charleston, South Carolina; coastal southern fare with a true farm-to-table approach. Our philosophy is a simple one: stellar food and drinks prepared with the highest quality ingredients. The menus change seasonally to showcase the freshest, local produce while the environment is relaxed, modern and always inviting.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Justin Werner. New York raised, Justin cut his teeth in some of Manhattan’s top tier. He spent half a decade working at Craft for Tom Colicchio where he gained a passion for quality produce and forging relationships with farmers. This lead him to spend a few years at Thomas Keller’s Per Se before moving on to Corton, where he maintained two Michelin stars as a Sous Chef for Paul Liebrandt. After winning the hit TV show Chopped, he used his winnings to invest in himself and left for Copenhagen. It was here that he interned at Noma while it held the title of “Best Restaurant In The World”. Upon returning to the US, Justin made a cross country move to Orange County. The last four years have seen him as chef at local favorite, Playground DTSA splitting time between Playground and 2.0. This time has allowed him to familairize himself with the OC dining scene, source incredible local produce and prepare for this endeavor. A lover of travel, Justin draws inspiration from his time spent around the world to create this very special dining experience he is so proud to be a part of.
Leading the bar program is Charleston native, Andrew Parish. A master mixologist of 15 years, Andrew has made a name for himsel in the Southern California cocktail scene. He spent a decade honing his skills in Los Angeles, running bar programs that received glowing write ups from multiple publications. His carefully crafted cocktails won over the tastebuds of comedian Chelsea Handler which kicked off a career as her personal events mixologist. This garnered the attention of multiple other celebrities and landed him an interview with the Huffington Post in which he was dubbed “Mixologist To The Stars”. After many years spent in LA, Andrew took an opporutnity to design a bar prgram down in Orange County allowing him to transform the local cocktail scene. Now ready to tackle a new challenge, has created a concept of his own. He may be a California transplant but he has never lost site of his Charleston roots. This endeavor to bring the Lowcountry to Southern California is one Andrew is incredibly passionate about and cannot wait to share with true southern hospitality.
